News and Training from Business and Financial Services

September 14, 2012

News and events from Business and Financial Services:

  • Anyone who engages volunteers on behalf of the university should be familiar with UC Merced volunteer guidelines. Departments need to be aware of loss exposures associated with volunteer use. These guidelines are designed to promote safety, reduce risk and protect the interests of the university, its volunteers and the community they serve. Visit the Risk Services website for your checklist.
  • Whether you’re a student or full-time staff member, anyone handling cash for a university job is required to take cash-handling training. Don’t prolong the start date for your new cashiering job; plan ahead and impress your interviewer with the training already on your resume. These classes are offered only periodically, so sign up now for a one-hour training session on Oct. 1.
